This experimental project relied on the creation of several modernist-styled packagings. The developed items were a contact card, a A4 document with iPAD containable folder (scaled version), a CD/DVD sleeve and a calendar.
Modernist style
It is an artistic movement which took place at the end of the 19th century and was also known as “Art Nouveau”. In its time it supposed a style breaking way in relation to the conventional styles of his epoch. Modernist works make use of floral elements, woman’s beauty and sensuality, nature-based colours and thick outlines.
Floral texture
The texture, which was used to keep visual uniformity in each project element, was created with real flowers which were previously selected, painted, dried and finally digitalized by scanner. The floral texture share space with a kind of grid which make reference to the architect work.
Contact card
It is about a rectangular-shaped telescope which contains 2 opalux windows. I chose this material because of his capacity to sharp and blur the vision. If we try to look through the opalux and bring something closer or move it away from us, we will see a sharping and blurring effect. This feauture was very useful for me to make me possible to play with a linear-moving panel which contains the logo on the one side and on the other personal information. This way we can see different kind of information depending on the window we look through.
Folder
The mockup scaled folder is a kind of prototype which can be able to transport an iPAD and A4 documents. By folding up it becomes pyramidal and enable us to see the iPAD screen and have on hand the A4 sheets.
CD/DVD sleeve
Relies on a paper folding technique and by closing it, it becomes flower-shaped.
Calendar
The concept borns from the parking disc and works similarly. By rotating the different wheels we can change the date.
