This 8-sheet (32 pages) plus cover magazine is about a work which compiles the most important german typographies between 1450 and 2011. The magazine is splitted in two parts: The first part was designed with a basic grid and the second one with a gridless layout. Each type which appears inside the magazine is accompanied by his author. It also include a section about the famous type foundry Berthold AG.
It is about a digital/crafted work, because the magazine intestines (printed part) has been composed digitally and the cover and the title (Die deutsche Schriftart = The german typography) had been crafted. The hook-up and sewing were also done manually.
The magazine intestines were printed on a 115 g/m2 recycled paper and the cover was composed by a wood-kraftpaper-laminated material.
