Beste Bat is a young fashion brand which was born in 2004. The brand is very deep-rooted aestheticlly in art and music. The name “Beste Bat” itself is Basque. They are the words which the Basque public sings at concerts (“One more song!”).
This young brand organized its fourth edition of the graphic design competition for its application in t-shirts and sweatshirts. The contest was aimed at anyone who knew how to draw or had creative talents. The delivery date was fixed for January 15th (2012).
For this fourth edition of the contest I delivered 3 designs, which where the maximum number of drawings that could be sent. To design these T-shirts, I took into account the strong relationship between Beste Bat and music. Although in some cases I just played with the shape of the logo.
Each proposal got a name assigned by myself :
- Design 1 : Sound Waves
- Design 2 : Walking BB
- Design 3 : Breaking Sound
Design 1 : Sound Waves
In this first design I played with the logo’s shape, which I represented as if it were a speaker. The guitar produces waves (which explain the name of the design) and at the same time it draws the attention of the name of the brand, located in the middle. With this composition I wanted to reflect the relationship which Beste Bat has with music.I used 3: Red, black and grey.
Design 2 : Walking BB
In this case I used the shape of the logo as a shoe. Beste Bat is a young brand with the desire to grow up and to thrive. I represented the fact of advancing through two legs which want to mean the forward movement. Therefore,I have named this design Walking BB (Beste Bat Walker). The used colours are: Black and grey.
Diseño 3 : Breaking Sound
Breaking Sound is my last proposal. It’s a fusion of a musical note and a music helmet. It tries to reflect the power of music that breaks with everything. The music note breakes glass in the composition. The proposal works both in positive and negative spaces.
